President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has sent Victory Day greetings to the citizens of the Maldives.

In a tweet sent out this morning, President Solih expressed his prayer for the lives lost on the day along with the greetings of the 31st Victory Day to the people of the country.

Victory Day is celebrated in the Maldives to commemorate the victory over the invasion led by Abdulla Luthufee (Haajaraage) with a terrorist group in November 1988. The attack on the Maldivian capital cost the lives of eight military service men and 11 members of the public.
