A man taken into custody for making death threats have been released.

Maldives Police Service arrested a 19-year-old local from Fuvahmulah City last week for making death threats and advocating for violence on social media.

While the police said that the suspect was released today, no further details were offered.

Sources say that authorities arrested a man from Hodadu district in Fuvahmulah City while he was playing football at a stadium in the city.

Police also arrested a 27-year-old man in early October for advocating violence to create fear in the community and posting logos and texts from terrorist organizations.
