Maldives Police Service has confirmed that former Commissioner of Police and Deputy Commissioner of Police received money from the MMPRC Corruption Scandal.

CP Mohamed Hameedh confirmed the news during a press conference held today regarding the corruption scandal.

He noted that a former CP and DCP had received large sums of money from the corruption on several occasions and asserted that a criminal investigation will soon be launched into the matter.

CP Hameedh further noted that officers in various ranks are incriminated by their current findings and stressed that the criminal investigation will include all of them as well.
