Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation and Council Member of the Jumhoory Party (JP), Aishath Nahula, has said that there is no reason not to congratulate the different people joining the party and she does not believe there is a problem with it.

She made the statement this morning during her appearance as a special guest on Raajje TV’s “Fashaa Iru” program.

Some people have been criticizing JP as a number of former government officials and MPs under PPM and PNC have been joining the party. Those criticizing the party say that “waste” is being collected at the JP and it is unacceptable that JP accepts opposition members to their ranks while the party is in the government coalition; the later is primarily voiced by some of the MDP members. Some of the MDP activist have also called for JP to be removed from the government coalition.

Regarding the criticism, Minister Nahula said that she does not believe in holding a grudge for past misdeeds of a person.

The Transport Minister said that people joining JP is not something another group of people should be concerned about and even today, the primary work of the party is to protect the government of the President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
