Aasandha has introduced the 'Meranaa' Scheme aimed at Maldivians living abroad, in India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia.
According to Aasandha, under the Meranaa scheme each person is entitled to a coverage of MVR 150,000 per annum. From that amount, for services that do not require admittance, the coverage is set for MVR 10,000 per annum.
Aasandha also noted that while the Meranaa scheme is now live for Maldivians living in Malaysia, some changes have been brought to the scheme.
As such, the scheme now covers 65% of the total bill and is now in effect in India and Sri Lanka as well.
Even though the Menaraa scheme has been launched in Malaysia, cashless systems are not in place as of yet. Hence, those who seek the services have to submit the Menaraa Reimbursement Form along with the relevant documents.
All applications are reimbursed within 20 days, according to Aasandha.
