Maldives National University (MNU) has advised their lecturers against talking about the controversial report published by Maldivian Democracy Network (MDN).

The notice sent by Chancellor Dr. Hassan Hameed noted that the state had taken notice of their lecturers talking about the issue on social media on top of public complaints regarding the issue. The notice further highlighted that the state had taken note of some MNU lecturers talking about the much controversial report in a manner that may incite violence and create differences in the society.

Regarding the public complaints about the issue, the notice asserted that as lecturers are the ones who shape the future of young minds, and repeated offences like this may have a bad affect on the society.

The Chancellor had also appealed all employees to keep their behaviour in check with the behavioural code of the university.
