Addu Meedhoo MP Rozaina Adam has said that the report by Maldivian Democratic Network (MDN) which included parts that clearly were against islamic tenets and values was issued during the tenure of Former President Abdulla Yameen, hence him talking about it now was a shame.

The 'Preliminary Assessment of Radicalisation in the Maldives' was issued in 2015 and claimed that the islam books used to teach in secondary grades encourage extremist opinions. It also included several points which were against the Quran and the Hadith.

While President Yameen has talked about the report during campaign trails in Kaafu Atoll for the Local Council Elections, Rozaina has raised questions as to why no actions were taken against the report back then. She insinuated that he may have not been able to take the necessary actions regarding the report since he was too busy 'stealing' from the people of Maldives.

A social media campaign has since kicked off against MDN calling on the authorities to ban them. Police have also begun an investigation into the network's report.
