MP for Maavah constituency, Mohamed Saeed has said that even two percent of the Strategic Action Plan announced by the current administration cannot be achieved at the end of the five-year term.

Speaking at an event by the opposition coalition last night at Kaafu Atoll Thulusdhoo, MP Saeed said that the current administration does not have the capacity to achieve the things in the Action Plan even by 2030.

He said that the former President, Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom projected that seven million tourists will be visiting the Maldives by 2023 and invested USD 1.2 billion to develop Velana International Airport as one of the top-quality airports in the region.

Highlighting that the project is still ongoing, MP Saeed criticized that the action plan by the current administration has included the airport development in their Action Plan.

Saeed said that the current administration has made the airport development, a projected initiated by President Yameen, to one of their pledges.

He also criticized the number of visits abroad by state officials saying that it is better to work in the country than visit other countries.

The MP said that the people wants to see elected officials fulfill their pledges and cannot simply bought when an election approaches.
