An expatriate worker has died after being caught under the belt of a large brick making machine.

Maldives Police Service said that it was reported at 6:20 p.m. yesterday that an expatriate worker was severely injured in an incident at Noonu Atoll Dhigurah, being developed as a tourist resort, and was taken to Manadhoo Hospital for treatment.

Police said that their investigation so far has revealed that the 25-year-old worker contracted under Sun Construction Company was injured after being caught under the belt of a large brick making machine.

In reference to the Manadhoo Hospital, police said that the man was dead when he was brought to the hospital.

The incident is being investigated further.
