Defence Minister, Mariya Ahmed Didi has thanked the officers of the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) for their efforts to save lives and property during two recent fire incidents in Male’ City.

Meeting the officers at a special gathering was held at the Kalhuthukalaa Kolhu military base, Minister Mariya said that she has seen their hard work day and night.

The Defence Minister thanked the MNDF for their work in responding to the fires on Abadhahfehi Magu in Henveiru district and the T-Jetty area.

Chief of Defence Force, Major General Abdulla Shamaal also highlighted the work of the officers during the fires.

Defence Minister Mariya was accompanied by the Chief of Defence Force and Vice Chief of Defence Force, Brigadier General, Abdul Raheem Abdul Latheef along with Heads of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) at the meeting with MNDF officers of various ranks.
