Agreements have been signed with contractors to develop sewerage systems in 36 islands in the Maldives.
At a special ceremony held at the Planning Ministry, the projects were contracted to IPOC Private Limited in Association with Feedback Infra Private Limited (India) and Foresight Surveys Private Limited.
The agreements were signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure, Zeenia Ahmed Hameed while the Managing Director, Muaviyath Abdul Sattar signed the agreements on behalf of IPOC Private Limited in Association with Feedback Infra Private Limited.
The planning ministry said that among the 36 islands, water and sewerage systems will be installed in 21 islands while 15 islands would have water systems.
The projects valued MVR 22,054,920 is contracted to be completed within six months.
And so, water and sewerage systems will be installed at Naalaafaru and Raimandhoo in Meemu Atoll, Keyodhoo and Rakeedhoo in Vaavu Atoll, Feridhoo and Himandhoo in Alifu Alifu Atoll, Fohdhoo and Maafaru in Noonu Atoll, Kumundhoo and Hirimaradhoo in Haa Dhaalu Atoll, Vashafaru and Thakandhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll, Dhehvadhoo and Nilandhoo in Gaafu Alifu Atoll along with Alifu Dhaalu Kumburudhoo, Lhaviyani Olhuvelifushi, Raa Atoll Fainu, Gaafu Dhaalu Nadella and Laamu Atoll Kunahandhoo.
Water systems will be developed in Dhiyamigilidhoo and Madifushi in Thaa Atoll, Dhihdhoo and Mathiveri in Alifu Alifu Atoll, Omadhoo and Fenfushi in Alifu Dhaalu Atoll, Kamadhoo and Maalhos in Baa Atoll, Hembadhoo and Namadhoo in Noonu Atoll, Maarandhoo and Muraidhoo in Haa Alifu Atoll Along with Shaviyani Atoll Feevah, Raa Atoll Innamaadhoo and Kaafu Atoll Hinmafushi.
