Maldives Police Service has found a suspect in a drug-related crime who escaped from custody.

The man arrested in Meemu Atoll Kolhufushi on Monday around 5:15 p.m. escaped from police custody yesterday. Following the efforts to find the 39-year-old suspect, he was taken back into police custody by 5:30 p.m.

Police said that he was taken back into custody at his home.

The case is being investigated further.
