Economic Minister, Fayyaz Ismail has said that the Fannu Expo 2019 will not end with just handing out prizes to the winners but also move forward to generate revenue with them in the future.
Speaking at the inauguration of the artisan exhibition “Fannu Expo” set to take place later this year, Minister Fayyaz said that the purpose of the expo is to present traditional craftsmanship to the world and create a revenue stream through it.
He said that MMC loans will be arranged for the Fannu Expo winners and meet with the Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) to sell local products at the duty free at the airport with a special shop.
An agreement has been signed with FDFC to present MVR 5 million to the top five winners at the Fannu Expo.
Fannu Expo 2019 is set to take place from 22-28 November where participants can join in six categories.
