Foreign Minister, Abdulla Shahid has left for Saudi Arabia to take part in the meeting at he foreign ministers level by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Minister Shahid departed from Velana International Airport last night to join the meeting held in Jeddah.
The Foreign Ministry said that Minister Shahid went to take part in the extraordinary meeting of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers.

Before his departure, Minister Shahid tweeted that at the meeting, he would address the struggle of the people of Palestine. He said that the Maldives would always support the people of Palestine.
The extraordinary meeting of the OIC Foreign Ministers' is set to be held today.
