President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that he did not approve the report prepared by the Presidential Commission on deaths and disappearances on the death of the Minivan News journalist, Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla to be shared with anyone aside from the media.

Answering a question during the press conference held today at the President's Office, President Solih noted that he had not approved the commission to share the report with anybody else other than the media.

President Solih also revealed that the commission had shared two different reports regarding Rilwan's case with him, with the latter being presented to him on September 1st. He had met the commission regarding this as well. He had only requested to share certain details with the media and not any specific people.

During a press conference held on September 1st, President of the commission Husnu Suood had shared various details of the report with the media.

The President highlighted that some people had received the report even though he had not approved it, and appealed those who received the report from doing anything that may compromise the investigation.

He further added that the investigation is still ongoing and that several people are to be questioned, hence the report is not complete in its entirety.
