President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has today appointed Ali Hashim as Governor of Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA).

The appointment was made at a meeting held at the President’s Office this afternoon.

President Ibrahim Solih presented the letter of appointment to Ali Hashim this afternoon, at the President’s Office. Ali Hashim previously served as Minister of Finance from 2008 to 2010.

Hashim was interviewed by the committee, who then approved his name and sent it to the Parliament floor last Sunday.

55 members voted yes to appoint Hashim as the Governor.
