Transport Ministry has said that wearing life jackets during sea transport will be made mandatory starting this month.

State Minister Ahmed Adil revealed that the regulation making it mandatory to wear life jackets during sea transport will be finalized and publicized within the span of two weeks.

He noted that it will be compulsory to wear life jackets during traveling once the regulation is publicized.

Adil also noted that it is important to practice civic responsibilities at a time when such a regulation is being developed. He stressed that it is important to respect such regulations which are developed for the safety of everyone.

He further added that the captain should monitor if all passengers were wearing life jackets at the beginning of all journeys and added that Marine Police and Coast Guard will help with regulating everything:
