The National Security Committee of the Parliament, (241 committee) has decided to meet with the members of the Presidential Commission investigating deaths and disappearances regarding their investigation and report on the death of the Minivan News journalist, Ahmed Rilwan Abdulla.
Parliament said that meeting is set to take place at the committee meeting at 2 p.m. today.
While the parliament has gone to recess and some MPs have gone on holiday, the MPs on the Security Committee is continuing their work regarding the commission report on Rilwan’s death.
And so, at the parliament session held on Thursday, the report was discussed on the parliament floor and sent to the committee before going on recess.
The report prepared by the Presidential Commission recounts the kidnapping and death of Rilwan based on testimonies provided.
It also made notes on previous investigations on the case along with information on people with suspected involvement. Although none of the witnesses that provided testimonies were named in the report.
