Two people have been arrested in Alifu Dhaalu Fenfushi with illegal drugs.

Maldives Police Service said that the arrest was made during a special operation by the Fenfushi Police Station in their efforts against drugs. In the operation, police arrested two men of the ages 28 and 31.

They were arrested on Friday afternoon following an intelligence report on drug possession. Following the arrest, their residence was searched to find seven plastic packets of suspected drugs.

When taken to their remand hearing, the Alifu Dhaalu Maamigili Magistrate Court ruled to keep them in custody for ten days at a location designated by the Home Ministry.

The case is being investigated further.
