President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih is set to address the UN General Assembly in New York later this month.
The UN General Assembly will take place at their Headquarters in New York from September 17th till September 30th.
Chief Communications Strategist at the President's Office, Ibrahim Hoodh confirmed to 'One Online' that the President is set address the UN General Assembly on September 24th. He however did not reveal any further details of the trip.
This marks the first time in six years that a Maldivian President will address the UN General Assembly. The last President to do so was Dr. Mohamed Waheed Hassan Manik. During the five year tenure of President Abdulla Yameen, his cabinet ministers were the ones to address the assembly.
