President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said that it was his administration has that began providing the biggest assistance on educating the people in history.
The President made the remark as the chief guest at the Golden Jubilee function of the Noonu Atoll Kudafari School. He said that with God’s Will, the results of the special assistance from the government to education will be seen soon.
Highlighting on the statistics in education, President Soih said that over 70,000 students are involved in the current Academic Year studying from pre-school to Grade 12. And while 144 of the 213 schools in the country are on a single session basis, the remaining 69 schools are in the process of becoming single session schools.
The President said that by the time students graduate from a single-session education system, they will be ready to take on the challenges in life and practiced in personal responsibility.
President Solih visited two islands in the Noonu Atoll yesterday; Miladhoo and Kudafari. He met with the Island Councils at both islands and discussed the needs of the people.
