MWSC signs to develop water and sewerage systems in 4 islands

Ministry of Planning and Infrastructure and Male' Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) has signed contracts to develop water and sewerage systems in four islands.

The islands are; R. Kinolhas, B. Goidhoo, N. Maalhendhoo and N. Kudafari.

Under the project, design and development of a water and sewerage network in the islands, installation of RO Plant and Storage Tank in addition to connection of services to households will be carried out by MWSC. All four contracts have been signed for the work to be finished within 22 months.

MVR 42.9 million will be spent for the project in Maalhendhoo while MVR 38.2 million, MVR 36 million and MVR 46.3 million will be spent for the projects in Kudafari, Kinolhudhoo and Goidhoo respectively.

Director General Fathimath Shaana Farooq signed the contracts on behalf of the Ministry while Managing Director Adam Azim signed on behalf of MWSC.
