Former President and Speaker of Parliament, Mohamed Nasheed met with the sister of missing journalist, Ahmed Rilwan.
Speaking to One Online about the meeting, Media and Communication Director of Parliament Hassan Ziyau said that the Speaker inquired about Rilwan from Shehenaz.
While Nasheed met with Shehenaz, the Presidential Commission on Enforced Disappearances and Murders had presented their investigative report on the disappearance of Rilwan to Nasheed today.
Based on the evidence gathered and witness statements, President of the Commission Husnu Al-Suood revealed that it is evident that Rilwan was murdered after being taken out to the sea in a dinghy.
Suood further added that the murder took place on the night of 7th August, 2014. He also revealed that the Maldivian affiliate of Al-Qaeda, Jabhat al-Nusra was behind the murder.
