An agreement has been signed between the governments of Sri Lanka and the Maldives to develop youth in the Maldives and provide assistance in social protection.

The agreement was signed at a special ceremony held at the President’s Office.

The MoU on Higher Education agreement ensures education opportunities for both Sri Lankan and Maldivian students along with expert consultation in developing the education sector.

MoU on Social Protection focuses on cooperation between the two countries to provide assistance to children, elderly and people with disabilities.

And the MoU for Vocational Training and Youth Development agreement includes information exchange sessions focused on the youth, vocational and leadership training. The agreement also covers mutual cooperation on academic research on tradition, culture and languages of both countries.
