A strong gust of wind that came in the rain has thrown off the roofs of two residential houses in Vaavu Atoll Felidhoo.
Maldives Police Service said that the roofs of two houses were thrown off this morning around 8:30 a.m. and the roof of a third house sustained various degrees of damage. And two trees were pulled out of the ground due to the strong winds.
While the Felidhoo Island Council along with a number of people of the island are working with the police to repair the roofs and clean the up the trees.
National Disaster Management has advised the general public to take precautions to possible flooding and other damages along with sea travel due to the storm currently affecting a large portion of the country.
