Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to hold interviews for those who submitted their names to the bench of Supreme Court tonight.
JSC revealed that they have decided to conduct the interviews tonight to provide a final decision on the consultation to the President on who should be appointed to the bench. The interviews will begin 7:00pm, with the interviews set to be recorded for commission purposes.
The commission also revealed that four High Court judges had applied for the position apart from the two names that were submitted by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
The High Court judges who have applied for the Supreme Court bench are; Judge Ali Sameer, Judge Abdulla Hameedh, Judge Shuaib Hussain Zakariyya and Judge Mohamed Niyaz.
The High Court judges applied for the open position at a time when the JSC had decided to accept the Presidential nominees, Former High Court Judge Dr. Azmiralda Zahir and Former Civil Court Judge Aisha Shujune.
