Leader of the DRP and MP for Kaashidhoo constituency, Abdulla Jabir has said that the former President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom does not have to be taken to trial and have to sentence him to 25 years in prison.

MP Jabir made the statement this morning on Raajje TV’s “Fashaairu” program in response to the presenter’s question of how he feels about the former President’s hearing set for later today.

Jabir compared President Yameen’s presidency to Hitler’s reign and said that for his cruelty on the people, Yameen should be place detained in a cell without a trial.

The DRP Leader said that he would never work with Yameen in politics again.

The open hearing in the trial of former President Abdulla Yameen is set for 9:30 a.m. today. Former Vice President, Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor will be testifying in court today.
