Former Council Member of PPM, Aminath Nadira has said that the state institutes are still being run by the same people filling their own pockets despite the change of government.
Nadira made the statement in a tweet she sent out today.
In her tweet, Nadira said that she had sternly advocated for reforming the institutes. However, people from the previous government are still in power. Nadira said that she does not believe that people who could not fulfill their responsibilities before can do so in a new government.
She noted six different institutes in her tweet. They are the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office), Judiciary, Maldives Broadcasting Commission (MBC) and the Maldives Police Service.
