Speaker of the Parliament and former President of the Maldives, Mohamed Nasheed has formed an organization to do environment related work.

The former President registered Maldives Coral Institute today at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Community Empowerment.

The organization aims to research climate change to protect the reefs in a sustainable way.

The registered office of the institute is Galolhu Canaryge, the residence of the former President.
