President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and the First Lady, Fazna Ahmed has departed to Sri Lanka on an unofficial visit.

The President’s Office said that the President and the First Lady will conclude their four-day visit and return on Saturday.

It is believed that the visit for the Eid Holidays.

While the President has left for Sri Lanka on an unofficial visit, he also made an official visit to Sri Lanka in February accepting the invitation from the President of Sri Lanka, Maithripala Sirisena for the Sri Lankan Independence Day.

Currently, the Speaker of the Parliament, former President Mohamed Nasheed, is Sri Lanka as well.
