Maldives Police Service has advised the people of Alifu Alifu Atoll Rasdhoo to take precautions after swell waves start affecting the island.
Police said that they are working on draining the flood caused by the waves. And so, they have advised the people to stack sandbags to prevent water from entering the houses.
Earlier today, the MET Office said that swell waves are expected at some islands during high tide. As the weather has gotten more severe, some islands are experiencing floods due to heavy rain.
Flooding in Lhaviyani Atoll Naifaru cause water damage in four houses according to the island Council. MNDF and the Police have been working with the public to drain water at the affected islands.
