Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has decided to hold their first Youth Congress this month.

Speaking during a press conference held by the Youth Wing of MDP, South Galolhu MP Meekail Ahmed Naseem revealed that the party's first youth congress will be held on August 30 and August 31 at the Huravee School in Hulhumale'.

During the first day of the congress, basic guideline of the youth wing will be compiled. The youth wing also informed that a pre-congress workshop will be held the same day to create a vision of how the congress will be carried out.

During the second day of the congress, the basic guideline will be passed along with the logo for the youth wing and establish a working plan for the next three years.

MDP revealed that they decided to hold a Youth Congress since they had a large number of members who belong to the demographic and is an attempt to let them take part in the party's activities as much as possible. The party also said that one of the most important aims of the congress was to facilitate political activities by the youth.

President of MDP Youth Wing, MP Meekail revealed that youth from all corners of the country will take part in the youth congress. The congress will open up a platform to share opinion of youth who work in different aspects of life.
