Judicial Service Commission (JSC) on Wednesday decided to probe High Court judge, Hussain Shaheed.
The decision to investigate Judge Shaheed was made during the commission meeting held on Wednesday. Even though they revealed that they are investigating the judge, no further details of the case that was being investigated was revealed at the time of press.
Judge Shaheed was appointed to the High Court during the month of July this past year. Before that, he was a judge at the Criminal Court.
JSC on Wednesday also decided to submit to the Parliament to impeach two judges, after they were found guilty in two cases which were investigated by the commission. The said judges are Chief Magistrate of Kaafu Judicial Division, Mohamed Raqib and Family Court Top Judge Hassan Saeed.
The committee had previously decided to submit to the parliament to impeach Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Didi. The decision was reached on July 08th, after several cases against him were probed by the JSC. In addition to this, the Parliament had also impeached GDh. Thinadhoo Magistrate Court's Magistrate Ibrahim Rasheed after the JSC had submitted to impeach the magistrate.
