Investigative committee of Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to submit to the Parliament to impeach two judges, after they were found guilty in two cases which were investigated by the commission.
The said judges are Chief Magistrate of Kaafu Judicial Division, Mohamed Raqib and Family Court Top Judge Hassan Saeed.
The committee had previously decided to submit to the parliament to impeach Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Didi. The decision was reached on July 08th, after several cases against him were probed by the JSC. In addition to this, the Parliament had also impeached GDh. Thinadhoo Magistrate Court's Magistrate Ibrahim Rasheed after the JSC had submitted to impeach the magistrate.
The JSC revealed that they had decided to accept the investigative report compiled after their investigations concluded about the two concerned judges. The investigative committee had also decided to submit for their impeachment, since they were found guilty in the both the cases.
During the meeting, JSC had also decided to provide them with 30 days to respond to the report.
In a bid to reform the judiciary, JSC has been investigating a number of judges.
