Vice President Faisal Naseem has met with the members of the Alifu Dhaalu Fenfushi Council and discussed the island’s ongoing development projects and overall socio-economic progress.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office today, Councilors shared details of the island’s main ongoing development projects and the main impediments to further progress with the Vice President. Councilors relayed that they are currently preoccupied with expediting the development of the island’s sewerage systems; allocating plots of land on which to build guesthouses; implementing water and harbor projects; as well as building sports and recreations facilities such as football fields, among other planned and proposed development projects.

They also shared the scale and nature of assistance they would need from the government to bring all their goals to fruition.

Vice President was appreciative of all of their concerns and conveyed his sincere desire that they are resolved forthwith. He further reiterated that he would work with the relevant stakeholders and line ministries to address the several important issues discussed.
