Ministry of Home Affairs has decided to celebrate this year’s Eid-Al-Adha in Lh. Hinnavaru.

The celebrations will be held on August 11th and 12th in Hinnavaru.

The Ministry revealed that they decided to go with Hinnvaru since the island had submitted the best proposal to the Ministry for Eid festivities.

A team from the Ministry had traveled to the island and met with relevant personnel and institutions before deciding on the island to hold the Eid celebrations this year.

Celebrations in Hinnavaru will include traditional items along with stage activities. Some of the islanders have already begun preparations for items that include traditional forms of dance.

The Ministry revealed that six islands had submitted proposals to hold eid festivities with the Ministry.

Eid celebrations in Hinnavaru will also be broadcast alive.
