President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has appointed the Minister of Planning and Infrastructure, Mohamed Aslam as the State Representative to oversee the Maldivian Hajj Pilgrims this year, the Ameer ul-Hajj.

The transfer of Hajj Pilgrims from Male’ and Vilimale’ to Velana International Airport has been arranged in cooperation by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) and the Maldives Ports Limited (MPL). And so, the Pilgrims and their friends and families are transferred to the airport via the bus service from the Male’ Bus Terminal.

Maldives received a Hajj quota of 2000 people this year.

As the Hajj Pilgrims have started departing, the last group is set to depart on 5 August. The year’s Day of Hajj falls on 10 August, Saturday.
