A traffic collision has occurred last night in Gaafu Dhaalu Nadella involving a motorcycle and an ambulance.

The incident took place while the ambulance was transferring a patient to the Sea Ambulance. The ambulance going from north to south was hit on it’s right side by a motorcycle going from west to east near the island’s harbor.

Maldives Police Service said that the driver of the motorcycle, a 27-year-old local man without a driver’s license, sustained serious injuries and was transferred to Dr. Abdul Samad Memorial Hospital on the Sea Ambulance.

The driver of the ambulance, a 37-year-old local man, escaped unharmed according to the police.

The front end of the ambulance was heavily damaged in the collision. The traffic collision I being investigated further by the Nadella Police Station.
