Member of the Addu City Council, Hussain Hiyaz has said that the electrical issue in Addu City will be resolved once the new 800 kW generator brought to Hulhumeedhoo has been installed.

Talking to One Online, Councilor Hiyaz said that Hulhumeedhoo is currently experiencing power interruptions. He said that it is because two generators are used to power the district.

Councilor Hiyaz said that a tender will be announced very soon to install the new generator.

In an effort to resolve the electrical issues, FENAKA Corporation sent a generator to Hulhumeedhoo yesterday.

FENAKA tweeted that the demand for electricity is increasing in Hulhumeedhoo and so an 800 kW generator was sent to resolve the power disruptions.

With a population of over 5,000 people, Hulhumeedhoo is not connected to the other islands of Addu City.

Councilor Hiyaz said that the government has promised a 1 kW generator to Hulhumeedhoo which will solve the electricity issues completely.
