The official ceremony for this year’s Republic Day will be held at Hulhumalé Central Park at 8:30 pm on 19 November, the President’s Office has announced.

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu will deliver an address to the nation at the ceremony.

The event will also feature the presentation of the President’s Special Awards, recognising outstanding achievements in knowledge, skills and creativity. Recipients will receive a medal and a commemorative certificate, with selections made by a special committee appointed by the President.

The National Award for Public Service will also be presented to civil servants who have served the State for more than 35 years with competence and dedication. Recipients will receive an honorary badge, a medal and a commemorative certificate.

Recipients of the public service award are selected by the National Awards Committee appointed by the President.
