President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has ratified the ‎3rd ‎Amendment to the Judicature Act, effectively increasing the Supreme Court bench to seven justices.

The Amendment was passed by the Parliament at the 22nd ‎sitting of its ‎second session, on 17th July 2019. Following ratification, the ‎Act has been ‎published in the Government Gazette.

Following the ratification of this amendment, the total number of judges on the Supreme Court bench is now 7, composed of a Chief Justice and 6 additional judges.
