Tourism Minister Ali Waheed has revealed that works on compiling the registry of resort workers will begin on July 29.

Speaking during a press briefing held at the Ministry, the Minister noted that the works on such a registry has been a long standing wish by the workers in the industry.

Minister Waheed reveaked that a special ceremony of the Ministry would be held at Dharubaaruge on July 29, where the fifth master plan on tourism will be unveiled as well. The ceremony will also inaugurate the activities planned by the Ministry to celebrate the World Tourism Day this year.

Detailing on works to further develop the hospitality industry, the Minister said that Maldives will take part in the World Tourism Conference slated for August in Malaysia. He added that opportunities would be sought to further train hospitality professionals through this conference.

The Minister further highlighted that through the conference efforts would be made to maintain the Maldivian hospitality standards same as neighbouring countries and competitors.

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will be taking part in the event scheduled for July 29.
