Driving has been banned in Male’ City this Saturday in commemoration of the Maldivian Independence Day.
Male’ City Council said that the ban will take effect from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, 27 July 2019. The decision was made with a resolution since a number of events are planned in the city on the day. The Council said that a number of children and the elderly will be on the streets.
The Independence Day falls on a Friday this year, a weekend, and so a number of activities have been planned for the weekend along with a float march in the city.
