The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has begun resurfacing works on the third segment of Ameennee Magu in Malé.

MTCC said the work covers 1,924.77 square metres, stretching from Izzuddin Hingun to Koarukendi Hingun. The existing asphalt will be removed and replaced with a new asphalt surface.

Following the completion of the third segment, work will begin on the fourth segment, covering 1,148.91 square metres from Koarukendi Hingun to the area near Ghiyasuddin International School. The work will include resurfacing and repainting road markings.

MTCC said the project aims to improve road conditions and make travel more convenient for Malé residents, while upgrading Ameenee Magu to modern standards.

The road rehabilitation project was awarded to MTCC in June, with the company having already completed work on the first and second segments. The rehabilitated sections were reopened to public use last night.
