The Ministry of Defence has extended the deadline for registering hazardous chemical sellers and storage facilities by one month.

The Ministry said the extension was granted due to the low number of applications received before the previous deadline.

Businesses have until one month from today to register through the Ministry’s ‘Makudi’ portal and obtain the required permits.

The Ministry warned that action will be taken against those selling chemicals without a permit after the extended deadline. Such businesses will also be denied permits to import chemicals into the Maldives.
