Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) has decided to provide free bus transportation to Hajj Pilgrims and their families accompanying them.
Head of the Transport Department at MPL, Mohamed Mahujoob told One Online that the free service is in effect from today. He said that airport transfer busses are set for the departures and all accompanying friends and families would get free transportation.
He said that the service began with certain buses on stand-by and trips to Hulhulhe’ (to Velana International Airport) will be provided. And buses are scheduled based on flight times.
The buses to the airport will be setting off from the Male’ Bus Terminal.
While the first group for the year’s Hajj Pilgrimage starts today, pilgrims will be departing until 5 August. Today’s batch are 84 pilgrims flying under Zaeema Hajj and Umrah Group.
