Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) recorded a 115 per cent increase in net profit in 2025, driven by higher revenue and reduced operating costs, according to its audited financial statements.

MPL’s revenue rose from MVR 860.55 million in 2024 to MVR 949.93 million in 2025, mainly due to increased cargo handling and vehicle pilotage revenue.

Net profit increased from MVR 27.8 million to MVR 59.9 million during the year.

The company’s employee-related expenses also fell from MVR 675.8 million in 2024 to MVR 645.8 million in 2025.

With higher profits, MPL’s tax payments to the government increased from MVR 14.4 million in 2024 to MVR 17.2 million in 2025.
