Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has announced assistance for residents to repair safety features such as windows and balcony railings in mid-rise buildings under its management.
HDC said the initiative is being carried out under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, following President Dr Mohamed Muizzu’s guidance to strengthen building safety and security.
Residents who require assistance with repairs have been asked to submit their applications through an HDC Google Form by 12pm on Wednesday, 30 September.
HDC said applications will be assessed before repair works are carried out according to criteria set by the corporation.
The initiative comes after two children recently died after falling from flats. HDC has since been taking measures to improve safety in residential buildings under its management.
