Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has taken the statement of Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi and two other Supreme Court justices in a case that is currently under investigation.
The investigative team of JSC has obtained statements from Chief Justice Dr. Ahmed Abdulla Didi, Justice Justice Abdulla Areef and Justice Adam Mohamed Abdulla.
Director of JSC, Hasan Zaheen revealed to 'One Online' that they had indeed taken the statements of the justices two days ago, in a case that they were investigation.
While they are investigating cases related to all three justices, they had decided to submit a motion to the Parliament to impeach Chief Justice Abdulla Didi after concluding their investigation. As per their law, the JSC granted him a period of 30 days to answer the findings in the investigative report, after which a decision will be made about submitting for his impeachment.
The Investigation Committee by the JSC includes the Vice President of JSC, Masthoor Husni, Attorney General, Ibrahim Riffath, Judge Uz. Mohamed Eesafulhu, Abdul Rauf Ibrahim, Abdul Hannan Mohamed, the Parliament appointee to the JSC, the MP for Thulhaadhoo constituency, Hisaan Hussain and the President of the Civil Service Commission, Dr. Ali Shameem.
