Former President Abdulla Yameen has been summoned to the Criminal Court on July 21, while his former Legal Affairs Minister Azima Shukoor has been summoned for July 18.

'One Online' has learnt that both of them are being presented to the court for a hearing of the alleged money laundering case. Even though both of them had been presented to the court last Thursday, only administrative works were carried out.

While President Yameen is to appear in court on July 21 at 11:30am, Azima is scheduled for July 18 at 11:30am.

President Yameen is being alleged of having gained profits and money laundering from the funds deposited to his account with the Maldives Islamic Bank, by SOF through the MMPRC Corruption.

Azima is alleged of being an accomplice of President Yameen in money laundering and providing wrong information to government institutions.
